Top Five Activities to do in Jail – Behind Bars and Living it Up

If you’ve ever spent some time behind bars, you know what the deal is. Lots of weight lifting, chess games, and of course, confined boredom. Lucky prisoners under the Huber law get to experience watching new movies, playing foosball on a full size air hockey table, not to mention spending eight (plus) hours out of confinement and out in the real world. But, for those less fortunate there aren’t as many options.

Good thing there still are some though. Here is a list of the top five games or activities to do behind bars.

  1. Chess: If you get yourself locked up, be prepared to play lots and lots of chess. This game is always at the jailhouse and they actually encourage this light hearted activity in most jails and prisons.
  2. Tattooing: This is a pretty good market up in the jails. Whoever can ink behind bars will be making a fortune and whoever wants some prison ink will definitely be getting the best deals of their life. How about that for solitary confinement?
  3. Working out: Whether you lift weights in the weight room, play street ball out on the courts, or have nothing to do in your jail sell, you can definitely get in hardcore shape. Doing pushups, lunges, and sit-ups is a common activity for those suffering from 24 hour lock down.
  4. Reading: Whoever said gangsters don’t read classic novels? Well, a lot of them do. Behind bars, there is nothing better to do than expand your mind and pick up a book for once. Some jailhouses even supply in-house libraries.
  5. Hustlin: Believe it or not, hustling can still occur inside jails. Sometimes it is frowned upon but for the most part, it is encouraged. That’s kind of whacky huh? It’s true. Some prisoners get to partake in “strore day” the best day of the month. This is when inmates can spend their money from outside sources at the jailhouse store and stock up on snacks, candy, and tobacco. However, most don’t eat it themselves, they hustle them off and make a bigger profit and larger “gang.” If you ask me, most gangsters come out of their cells with more street credibility than they had when they came in. Reasons like this are exactly why.

Locked up? Oh well, get smarter, get buffer, and play your game from behind your cell walls, it’s doable.
